My first 6 months at royall.

I have been working at royall for just over 6 months, and as a person passionate about my own progression and development I am using this mid-year milestone as a point of reflection.

During my role as Client Services Executive, a role which was born from the needs of the business and to allow our Senior Relationship Manager, Hannah to take a step back from the marketing elements and focus on recruitment delivery, I wear many different hats. Although my primary role is to support the Team in recruitment delivery in tasks such as organising and confirming interviews and registering new candidates to name a few, I also manage our social media platforms; Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn pages. Writing and posting engaging and informative blogs directly to our website also comes under the umbrella as CSE.

As part of my ‘marketing hat’ I source, produce and send the royall newsletter ‘Ignite the Spark’ to Clients & Candidates, who receive their own unique newsletters. In addition to this I also collate and produce a Top Talent mailer that goes to our Clients ‘showing off’ our hottest new Talent, and a Top Vacancy mailer to our Candidates showcasing the must-have live roles direct from our much-loved Clients.

Admittedly as someone who struggled with Maths at school, I now  look after our supplier and Client invoices and expenses. This has grown my confidence and widened my knowledge of finance within small businesses, something which will be useful in the future as I aspire to one day run my own business.

Less frequent yet as important, I also look after our holiday & sickness records, stationary and office supplies and document filing.

Last but not least I am PA to our Founder, Jenny Royall a role which includes sporadic lunch/coffee runs and a dash to the nearest Argos to replace a broken computer mouse! In addition I also manage her online Outlook and call diaries. I am a highly organised person and I take great pleasure in organising other peoples lives as well as keeping my own intact. Post-it note lover, Filofax owner and keen on highlighters.

I am overwhelmed by how much I have learnt these past 6 months, the above only scrapes the surface of the life, business and people skills I have acquired and that I apply to myself now and in the future. I am very grateful to Jenny and the Team at royall for the opportunity to join this thriving business and am excited to see what the next 6 months has in store for me and royall.

Remember on the days when you feel as if you are not achieving all that you would like to, to look back and reflect and ask yourself “What do I know now that I didn’t know yesterday?”… You may just surprise yourself, I always do!
