The Problem

Traditional recruitment doesn’t attract the right or the best people and the industry is fundamentally awed and archaic. The biggest and best brands face tough competition for the best talent; yet companies are stuck with the same recruitment practices they were using 10 years ago. Our industry has evolved, talent has evolved. They are brand savvy and EVP smart, they are goal orientated and expect the employers to be as well. All areas have evolved accept recruitment, and ultimately people are expected to drive businesses and power success. More often than not they are either in the wrong position, or going to work with energy they do not use.

Recruitments processes cast the net wide; use multiple ‘suppliers’ and ‘recruitment consultants’ who are effectively junior ‘sales people’, resourcers or clerical administrators. They are rarely experienced, mature, business and recruitment professionals and consultants need to prove their value and demonstrate effective cause of engagement to attract, engage and help retain best talent – and especially tomorrow’s leaders. Hiring managers are still expected to trawl through stacks of CV’s, which have not been developed properly, so they may secure an interview, but they will not channel the conversations effectively.

Talent are still not being exited interviewed when they leave and thus job descriptions are not accurate, and people are appointment only to find out they have been miss-represented the role, or worse they are too in/experienced and therefore over-challenged and fail, thus let go, or, unfulfilled and leave.
